But financial support alone doesn't create a technician pipeline.

Bringing an apprentice through the door is step one.
Giving that person a pathway, mentors, hands-on experience, measurable expectations, and a clear understanding of how they progress is what turns today's apprentice into tomorrow's experienced technician.
That same structure helps shops standardize technician development rather than leaving progression dependent on which mentor, manager, or location an apprentice happens to work with.
Today's apprentices may also become tomorrow's mentors.

Do you know what your team can do before you need them to do it?
Hannah's recommendation is straightforward: identify five competencies that would have the biggest impact on the operation over the next 90 days.
Then ask:
Who can do them?
Who's developing them?
Who's mentoring them?
And what evidence shows they're actually competent?
Those are also useful questions for leaders evaluating technician development software.
